the faint of heart. I should know. In 1996, I jumped aboard a 42’ Bertram on a cool December morning, heading out of Wrightsville Beach’s Masonboro Inlet with five other fishermen in search of one. That day is etched in my memory— a story I’ve told thousands of times, and you would too if you had been there.
